Jakob Palm

Jakob Palm is a Swedish entrepreneur, investor and founder with more than 15 years of experience building, owning and scaling businesses across consumer products, public markets, technology and hospitality. He first came to Lombok in 2010 and quickly fell in love with the island. In 2011, he founded his first company, developing a locally made flip-flop into an acupressure sandal brand distributed across Sweden, Norway and Finland. The business was sold in 2014 to publicly listed MedicaNatumin, where Jakob subsequently became CEO at the age of 28. Jakob has continued to combine entrepreneurship with investment. In 2014, he invested in Swedish LED-lighting company MelaLed and served as Chairman, helping grow the business from approximately USD 1 million to USD 6 million in revenue before its sale in 2019. His experience developing his own architectural villa in South Lombok led to the creation of Tampah Hills. He acquired the first land in 2017 and launched the brand that year, with the vision of creating a world-class destination combining architecture, nature and hospitality. Today, Tampah Hills spans 132 hectares with approximately 650 metres of beachfront, 33 completed villas, extensive infrastructure, restaurants and a team of around 370 people. Jakob remains Chairman and a significant owner, focused on the destination’s long-term development. Jakob lives at Tampah Hills with his wife, Tilda, and their two sons, spending the majority of the year in Lombok and the Swedish summers in Sweden. His approach is defined by long-term ownership, hands-on execution and a commitment to building businesses and places that create lasting value.
